Corfu Beach Shore Excursions

Compare Corfu beach days from Neo Limani — then choose a swimming-focused port day if that is what you want.

Best for: Sun seekers, families and passengers who have already seen Old Town

A Corfu beach day trades fortresses and palaces for time in the water. From Neo Limani the two names that matter most are Glyfada (about 20 minutes south, sand) and Paleokastritsa (35–45 minutes northwest, pebble coves and cliff scenery). This page helps you compare those options. The bookable beach product we recommend is Glyfada Beach Escape.

Glyfada suits families and anyone who wants a shorter transfer and a sandy beach. Paleokastritsa is the more dramatic coastline — clearer water, monastery views, and a longer drive on winding roads. Neither pairs comfortably with a full Old Town day on a standard 8-hour call.

Allow time on the beach plus the drive back to Neo Limani, and keep a 60–90 minute buffer before all-aboard. Summer traffic from the northwest coast can add 15–20 minutes in the afternoon.

A swimming day is a poor fit for first-time callers who have not yet walked Old Town — combine beach and sightseeing only on repeat visits or unusually long calls. If the coast is the point of this call, pick one beach area and stay.

This is a planning page, not a guaranteed bookable tour. Use it to compare options, then follow a recommendation if it fits.

Highlights

  • Glyfada — sand, shorter transfer, family-friendly
  • Paleokastritsa — scenery, pebble coves, longer drive
  • One beach anchor per standard port day
  • Glyfada Beach Escape as the bookable beach recommendation

Getting there from the cruise port

Ships dock at Neo Limani (New Port), about 2 km west of Corfu Old Town. Allow 5–10 minutes by taxi to Spianada or 35–45 minutes each way for Paleokastritsa and Achilleion. Confirm your all-aboard time and keep a 60–90 minute buffer — summer traffic on the coastal road back to the port can slow returns from the northwest coast.

Tips for cruise passengers

  • Choose Glyfada for sand and a shorter transfer; Paleokastritsa for scenery
  • Pack reef-safe sunscreen and a cover-up
  • Do not add a late swim if your ship departs before 17:00
