Independent Old Town is Corfu's great advantage over distant cruise ports — culture sits 2 km from the gangway. Blue bus Line 15 runs to town in season but taxis are faster and clearer for first-time DIYers.
Pre-download offline maps — Wi-Fi at the terminal is unreliable. Keep €20 cash for taxis and small purchases; cards work at most Liston cafés but not everywhere in Campiello.
Return-to-ship confidence is high if you stay in Old Town and book an afternoon taxi back to Neo Limani 90 minutes before all-aboard. Do not attempt Paleokastritsa DIY without pre-booked return taxi.

Getting there from the cruise port
Ships dock at Neo Limani (New Port), about 2 km west of Corfu Old Town. Allow 5–10 minutes by taxi to Spianada or 35–45 minutes each way for Paleokastritsa and Achilleion. Confirm your all-aboard time and keep a 60–90 minute buffer — summer traffic on the coastal road back to the port can slow returns from the northwest coast.
